Frequently asked
Are lasers safe for my skin tone? +
We assess every patient's Fitzpatrick skin type before treatment. We offer different laser options and settings calibrated for each skin tone.
How many treatments will I need? +
Photofacials typically require 3–5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Fraxel often requires 2–4 sessions for full results.
What's the downtime? +
Photofacials cause mild redness and dark-spot darkening (before they flake off) for 7–10 days. Fraxel has more downtime: 5–7 days of redness, swelling, and a bronzed appearance.
Will results last? +
Yes — but new sun exposure creates new pigment. SPF 50 daily is mandatory and the #1 reason laser patients maintain results long-term.
Can I do lasers year-round? +
We recommend laser treatments in fall/winter when sun exposure is lower. Summer treatments are possible with strict sun avoidance.
Is it painful? +
We apply topical numbing for 30 minutes prior. Photofacials feel like quick rubber-band snaps. Fraxel is more intense but very tolerable with numbing.
